Impulse expands its hospitality client portfolio by securing the Taj Bengal Chia Kutir and Guras Kutir

The Taj is part of one of the world’s premier hotel groups, with luxury hotels in India and across the globe. Described as living spaces where “occasions turn into memories” the group’s hotel portfolio is impressive. Global cuisine, beautiful locations and understated luxury define the offering.  Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa is located in the North-east of India, in Darjeeling, and amidst the tea plantations of the historical Makaibari Tea Estate.  Set up on the hills in the middle of the plantation one is transported back to 1859, when the plantation was established, when visiting.  The town of Darjeeling is located in the Lesser Himalayas at 6700 feet, under Kanchenjunga, the world’s third tallest mountain.  This environment is what gives the tea produced in the region its excellent taste, that has become world renowned.  The air is crisp and fresh and the views are breathtaking, only ever obstructed by incoming mist at times. The estate supports the local community and the tea produced fetches high prices worldwide. 

Impulse secured the Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa with an assortment of our LX series Cameras (Dome, PTZ, Box and Bullet) built to withstand rough weather conditions, including temperature ranges of between -30°C and 60°C and humidity of 95% or less.  The cameras are waterproof and have an IR range of 50m. A high quality LX series NVR was installed to operate the camera system. Due to the rough terrain at high altitude and the remoteness of the location, security is of the utmost importance and so the responsibility was left with Impulse.  The installation was a complex project taking the altitude and misty conditions into account.  Security against intrusion is not the only concern, the premises also had to be secured against flood and fire, as access takes some time with such distances and remoteness.
