UTF Maldives is a large, multi-zone facility requiring robust security, seamless connectivity, and centralized operational control. With expansive indoor areas, exposed outdoor perimeters, and high-bandwidth operational requirements, the project demanded more than conventional CCTV. It required a fully integrated surveillance and industrial-grade networking backbone designed for performance and scalability.

Impulse was entrusted with delivering a comprehensive IP-based surveillance and connectivity ecosystem capable of supporting high-resolution video, centralized monitoring, and resilient network performance across the site.

Operational Challenges

The facility required continuous high-definition surveillance across varied architectural layouts, dynamic monitoring of open zones, and centralized PTZ control for real-time responsiveness. At the same time, the infrastructure needed to handle heavy video traffic without latency, ensure stable backbone connectivity, and support future scalability without redesign.

Integrated Surveillance Deployment

For indoor coverage across corridors, control rooms, and operational spaces, Impulse deployed 5 MP Motorised Dome Cameras

The motorised lens capability enabled precise field-of-view adjustments during commissioning, ensuring optimal scene coverage while delivering consistent 5 MP high-definition clarity for monitoring and forensic review.

For outdoor and perimeter zones, 5 MP Motorised Bullet Cameras were installed

Designed for durability and environmental resilience, these cameras ensure stable imaging performance across challenging lighting and weather conditions, securing external assets and boundary areas.

To monitor expansive areas requiring flexible coverage, PTZ Cameras were deployed

The pan, tilt, and zoom functionality provides dynamic surveillance capability, enabling operators to track movement and respond to incidents in real time.

For precise and responsive PTZ operation, a Joystick Keyboard Controller was integrated into the command center. This allows security personnel to execute smooth directional movements and rapid zoom adjustments, enhancing situational awareness and reducing response time during live monitoring.

Centralized Video Recording & Management

All video feeds are centrally aggregated and managed through enterprise-grade Network Video Recorders (NVRs)

The NVR infrastructure supports high-throughput recording, synchronized playback, and secure long-term storage of surveillance footage, ensuring reliable archival and easy retrieval when required.

Industrial-Grade Network & Connectivity Infrastructure

To sustain uninterrupted high-resolution video transmission, Impulse implemented a robust networking backbone comprising:

  • Industrial Grade Network Switches designed for consistent performance, high reliability, and stable throughput in demanding environments
  • 1G & 10G SFP Modules to enable high-speed uplink aggregation and fiber backbone connectivity
  • Optimized switching architecture to maintain low latency across surveillance traffic

The integration of 1G and 10G SFP uplinks ensured sufficient bandwidth headroom for multi-camera high-resolution streaming while maintaining network stability and scalability across distributed zones.
