The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, located in Uttarakhand, is one of India’s premier technical institutions. The institution required a robust, scalable, and future-ready CCTV surveillance system capable of covering vast areas while delivering high-definition video, advanced analytics, and reliable storage.

Impulse CCTV Solution
Dome Camera
For indoor surveillance in classrooms, laboratories, and administrative offices, Impulse deployed the Dome Camera. This 5MP fixed network device comes equipped with a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor and a 3.6mm fixed lens, offering sharp and clear imaging. With an IR range of up to 60 meters, it ensures visibility even in low-light conditions. The built-in microphone enables audio recording, while features like quad stream support, SD card storage, ONVIF compatibility, WDR, auto/manual shutter, and edge analytics with motion detection make it a comprehensive solution for discreet yet powerful monitoring.
Bullet Camera
To secure outdoor areas such as entrance gates, parking zones, and perimeter boundaries, the Bullet Camera was implemented. This 5MP fixed lens network device features a 1/2.5″ CMOS sensor, a 3.6mm lens, and an IR range of up to 50 meters, delivering clear visuals day and night. It also comes with a built-in microphone, quad stream, SD card support, WDR, auto/manual shutter, and advanced edge analytics with motion detection. Its robust design makes it ideal for outdoor conditions while maintaining consistent performance.
Network Video Recorder (16 CH)
A 16-channel H.265 Network Video Recorder with 2 SATA ports was used as the central recording and monitoring hub. It supports:
- 16-channel input
- Recording bandwidth of 320 Mbps
- 4K resolution preview and playback
This configuration ensures smooth recording, efficient storage management, and reliable playback across the campus surveillance network.
