Impulse collaborated with Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in Assam to revamp its surveillance system across critical healthcare zones. The Solution
Impulse CCTV deployed a comprehensive IP surveillance system across Silchar Medical College, integrating fixed-lens dome and bullet cameras, long-range PTZ cameras, and robust PoE network switching to establish a secure, intelligent video monitoring ecosystem.
These dome cameras were strategically placed in indoor areas including OPDs, patient waiting lounges, diagnostic labs, and corridors. Powered by a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor with a 3.6mm fixed lens, the camera offers crisp 5MP resolution and an extended 60-meter IR range for low-light performance. Built-in microphones enable audio capture, while features such as WDR, quad streaming, SD card support, and edge analytics with motion detection make this camera a versatile tool for both security and documentation within the hospital environment.
Installed across entry gates, ambulance bays, external walls, and parking lots, this bullet camera ensures robust outdoor surveillance. Its 1/2.5″ CMOS sensor, 3.6mm lens, and 50-meter IR range provide comprehensive coverage during day and night. The camera supports quad streaming, edge motion detection, and audio input, offering clarity and functionality in areas with heavy traffic or open exposure. With WDR and Onvif compliance, it integrates seamlessly into the broader network setup.
For wide-area monitoring such as the hospital’s large courtyards, parking zones, and security-critical perimeters, the PTZ camera delivers unmatched precision. Featuring a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor, this unit provides a focal range of 4.25mm to 170mm and 40X optical zoom. With a 200-meter IR range, auto-tracking, motion detection, preset tours, and edge analytics, it enables proactive threat detection and real-time zoom/focus on dynamic events. Its auto/manual shutter, audio I/O, and line scanning capabilities further empower the security team to monitor and respond instantly to incidents.
24-Port PoE+ Industrial Network Switch
To support seamless transmission and power for all IP devices, this 24×10/100/1000M PoE switch with 4×1/10G uplinks was deployed. It forms the networking backbone of the surveillance system, ensuring stable connectivity and sufficient bandwidth for HD video streams across the hospital campus. Its industrial-grade reliability ensures zero data loss or performance degradation in mission-critical healthcare operations.
